New 2023 Genesis G70 Exclusive Review

The 2023 Genesis G70 is a compact luxury sport sedan that offers a choice of two powerful turbocharged engines.

2023 Genesis G70 – If the first GV70 2022 got you excited for the 2023 Release Date of the Genesis GV70, here’s what we know so far. The Genesis GV70 is all new in 2022 and is soon starting to attract attention with 375 horsepower available, athletic styling, an aggressive front grille, and advanced technology.

To meet the new GV70 in person and hear more about the 2023 Genesis GV70 concept, visit our Genesis dealership for a test drive and a tour of the current model lineup.

European brands have dominated the luxury sports sedan class for decades. Heck, BMW practically found a segment with the 3 Series in the 1970s. Japanese brands were challenged in the 1990s with Lexus, Infiniti, and Acura, and now the Genesis brand from South Korea is putting pressure on it. Helping lead that payload is the 2023 Genesis G70, the smallest and sportiest sedan in its lineup.

Last year, the 2023 Genesis G70 Rumors got a significant refresh, with exterior and interior styling updates, a larger infotainment screen, and a new driver assistance feature. Unfortunately, the manual transmission was discontinued, but all the commendable elements of the G70 returned. These include a powerful V6 engine, sharp handling, plenty of features for the money, and a very generous warranty.

The Genesis G70 is a worthy alternative to other sporty sedans in its class, such as the Audi S4, BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS. With the rugged build quality and similar performance, the more affordable G70 is an admirable choice with few flaws. It included narrow rear seats and a thirsty engine.

2023 Genesis G70 Review

The Genesis G70 2023 is a compact luxury sports sedan that offers a choice of two powerful turbocharged engines, available all-wheel drive, and a price that is thousands cheaper compared to competitors which are equipped with similar equipment. This includes tough competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, and Audi A4.

After last year’s exterior and interior changes, the 2023 Genesis G70 should be relatively unchanged. The updated metal sheet brings the design of the G70, especially the dramatic front end with split headlights and a shield-shaped grille, more in line with the brand range Another Genesis.

The standard powertrain is a 252-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder coupled to an 8-speed automatic that delivers power to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive (AWD) is an option if the G70 wants additional grip. Unfortunately, the optional 6-speed manual transmission previously offered gets a heave-ho with the 2022 update. More buyers prefer an 8-speed automatic.

The engine is perfectly capable of driving the Genesis G70 on the road quickly, and the sharp handling fits perfectly with a sturdy but not hard suspension. In terms of overall balance, the G70 has always been impressive, and the latest versions are not inferior in this regard.

That’s especially true if you want the extra power of an optional twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6. This engine produces 365 horsepower and gives the G70 a real turn of speed like a sports car. Remember that you pay for this driving excitement at the fuel pump, although there is no particularly fuel-efficient engine option in driving in the city or on the road Raya.

The 4-cylinder turbo offers an average city/highway EPA estimates combined of 24 mpg, while the 6-cylinder turbo produces a combined 21 mpg. These numbers each dropped by 1 mpg when the AWD was installed.

Other minor drawbacks include comfortable rear seats, along with a trunk that measures only 10.5 cubic feet in capacity. If you have a lot of long-legged adults to drive or have problems packing light items for road trips, you might want to consider a luxury sedan that is airier.

The cabin of the 2023 G70 features a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that is easy to use and has clear menus and graphics. Standard features include satellite radio, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, and Bluetooth.

Genesis is also packed in a long list of standard active safety features, including many items that are additional cost options on the already more expensive Genesis G70 competitor. And do not forget, the G70 2023 also comes with a very strong warranty, which provides additional peace of mind on the way.

2023 Genesis G70 Specs

The 2022 GV70 comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbocharged 300-horsepower four-cylinder engine. When you want to experience speed on your favorite uphill or windy roads, ask if a twin-turbo V6 engine with 375 horsepower and intoxicating throttle response is in Genesis our new special. If you’re wondering what to do when your lease expires and thinking about an SUV that offers true sports performance, the 2023 release of the GV70 is the date you want to circle in your calendar.

If you want an AWD SUV that can take you further, the Genesis GV70 fits the bill. The 2022 GV70 is an RWD until it needs to switch to AWD. In everyday driving, 100 percent of the power is sent to the rear axle until the vehicle detects a loss of grip or low traction conditions. At this point, up to 50 percent of the vehicle’s power can go to the front wheels for equalization of power.

The 2022 GV70 is currently available in two different trim styles based on the engine you choose:

This five-seater SUV has a wheelbase of 113.2 inches and a total length of 185.6 inches. The vehicle measures 75.2 inches wide and 64.2 inches tall. Since the vehicle is all-new in 2022, we do not expect a redesign of the 2023 GV70 and anticipate similar dimensions in the new model.

2023 Genesis G70 Design

The design of the 2023 GV70 release is expected to remain consistent with the current 2022 model lineup, which includes dual sport exhausts available with large circular outlets.

If you want to adapt the drive to your condition, the GV70 can change its character through the drive mode select button on the center console and the electronically controlled suspension.

The lines flowing throughout the vehicle create a harmonious design language between the interior and exterior. The cabin features spin-brushed aluminum trim for a sleek and sporty aesthetic. If you’ve ever hit the rearview mirror upon entering a parking garage, you’ll find a wide selection of replacement Genesis parts for sale at our dealerships. You can also order new Genesis car parts online through our website.

2023 Genesis G70 Interior and Exterior

The 2022 GV70 comes with a driver-centric interior, and we expect the 2023 Genesis GV70 features to fit that experience. Currently, the 2022 GV70 is equipped with a horizontal touch screen that controls the vehicle’s HVAC system for an intuitive experience.

The 2022 GV70 for sale comes with advanced security from Smart Cruise Control with Stop &Go 14.5-inch HD screen comfort and everything in between. The 12.3-inch 3D Digital Meter Cluster gives you information about driver information related to clear readings that improve your drive.

One of our favorite features on the 2022 GV70 that we hope will repeat on the 2023 GV70 release date is the available surround display monitor that shows a 360-degree view of your vehicle. The system helps eliminate blind spots when you’re on the go and maneuver in/out of complex parking lots as you reach your destination.

2023 Genesis G70 Price

We expect the 2023 Genesis G70 luxury sedan to have a starting price of around $38,000 when equipped with an entry-level turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Adding all-wheel drive is likely to raise the price by about $2,000.

Stepping into the G70 equipped with an optional twin-turbo V6 means giving up about $43,000. However, the fully loaded G70 with this engine and AWD can easily break the $50,000 price limit.

Nonetheless, the G70 remains a solid offer compared to more expensive rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 3 Series, and Audi A4.

2023 Genesis G70 is close to unveiling its first electric battery vehicle, a compact crossover named the JW code, and will likely be called the “GV60” or “eGV60”.

However, this is just one of several Korean brand electric vehicles manufactured. The electric version of the G80 was also tested, and now the electric version of the GV70 has been observed.

The GV70 is a small crossover that will hit agencies later this year as a 2022 model. It will take on vehicles like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, while its electric version will compete with the Tesla Model Y, Jaguar I-Pace, and Audi E-Tron.

We know that the prototype is for the electric version of the GV70 because of the missing exhaust tip and the well-closed grille. A trademark filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office unveiled in January indicated that the “eGV70” tag could be assigned to an electric GV70.

It is not clear which platform will support the vehicle. The possible bet is a different version of the standard GV70 platform. Known as the M3, the aluminum-intensive platform is exclusive to Genesis and is also available in the G80 and GV80.

As for the upcoming JW electric crossover, Genesis will use Hyundai Group’s dedicated E-GMP EV platform. The vehicle is a twin to the Hyundai Unique 5 that was announced on Tuesday, and Kia is working on a similar model that will be announced in March.

Recent reports from Korea claim that the electric GV70 will go into production in December. The report also notes that the electric GV80 is in development.

If the electric GV70 is approved for the United States, we will most likely see it arrive in 2022 as a 2023 model. As mentioned above, the regular GV70 will arrive later this year. Two electric vehicles have been approved: a 2.5-liter embedded turbo-4 and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6. They will produce 300 and 375 hp respectively.

2023 Genesis G70 Review

More information on the Genesis G70 2023 is out today. Genesis details cars in Korea, offering more photos of the redesigned sedan, along with engine and feature updates.

We will note that Genesis is still staring at the end of this release, saying that the specs and features discussed are for Korean market vehicles. US-specific market info is still not explicitly defined, but it’s safe to assume that most of what we see here will also make it in the United States.

We’ll start with performance. Genesis carries some of the same engine options as before. The base engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 252 horsepower, and the upgraded engine is a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 365 horsepower.

However, there’s a new Sports package available with a variable exhaust that adds three horsepower to both engines and features a much more aggressive exhaust. The Sports package also adds a “drift mode” with a customized all-wheel-drive system.

All 2023 G70 (with or without the Sports package) also add a new Sports + driving mode which turns the engine and transmission up another notch.

As we further mentioned, this powertrain detail is not final or specific to the US Genesis could make some adjustments, and we still hope the US gets a more powerful 2.5-liter turbo which will come as North American exclusive to the updated. Kia Stinger.

Since the 2023 Genesis G70 and Stinger share a platform, it only makes sense that we should get a big four-cylinder here too. However, the updated Stinger launches with the same 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 as before, so we weren’t expecting the Genesis to give us 3.5 liters with the 2023 G70.

The 10.25-inch infotainment system of the G80 and GV80 is carried over to this model. Genesis also made the instrument cluster larger for easier reading. People will get a more powerful cordless phone charger on the inside, and acoustic glass added to the windshield and front door.

All three new photos of the 2023 Genesis G70 show a four-cylinder model with dual exhaust pipes coming out of the rear bumper. We’re still digging into the new look and can’t wait to see it in person. Genesis says the updated 2023 G70 will go on sale in South Korea first, with international markets following around 2022.

2023 Genesis G70 Refresh

Genesis is also known as the 2023 Genesis G70, as is the use of the Barrow-Barrow prototype in Europe.

Genesis hasn’t announced plans for a wagon yet, but we’ll likely see it introduced next year to coincide with the market launch of the updated 2023 Genesis G70 sedan.

Sedan 2023 G70 Barra Arrives Lethon 2019 Tatapis Genesis Student from Amfarbaroi Styling To Sassui with Mobile-Carrier Lane at Jarjan Pamboat Carrier, Yaito G80 and GV80 Young Barrow. The 2023 Genesis G70 sedan that will be refurbished is expected to be sold on the front as a 2022 model.

Most popular in the United States. This is a brand new car Audi A4 Avant, BMW 3-Series Sports Wagon, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Wagon, as well as two different models. Its arrival is meant to coincide with Genesis’s expansion into Europe where wagons are popular.

2023 Genesis G70 Model Years

Bereishit Blum reveals details about the updated G70. Jarjaran Saat Ina Kamongkininan will be carried by Caesar’s Dipperbury Power Station, which means the Filian 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-Ato V-6 twin-turbo 3.3-liter.

The embedded 4-liter 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine is also available for use. Unfortunately, the manual Shiduri crashed. In this case, the exchange rate of the Buyer 2023 Genesis G70 option is 1% lower.

The introduction of new models at Genesis isn’t going to be slowing down any time soon. Two SUVs are on the line, one of which is the small SUV GV70 which will arrive next year. Also arriving next year will be a dedicated EV and an electric version of the G80.

2023 Genesis G70 Specs

From the limited Genesis photography released, the brand appears to have made slight changes to the 2023 G70’s interior. Already a handsome and user-friendly space, the 2023 G70’s cabin looks the same as before, although it hides one major improvement: The centerpiece of the current 8.0-inch model has been swapped for a new 10.3-inch, wider-format display that runs the new software.

While not explicitly stated, the new settings are likely to change from the 2023 Genesis G70 coming out of the on-screen menu and Hyundai-Esque outgoing look to the Genesis custom screen style and functionality.

Included with the new kit? Airborne renewal capability. The display still relies on touch input for manipulation, and we were pleased to see a row of large, easy-to-use temperature control knobs and hard buttons for the audio system remain.

How Fast Is A Genesis G70

The G70 3.3T is a sporty compact sedan and it shows immediately. It’s powerful, accelerates quickly, and manages to go fast in corners too thanks to a well-ordered chassis, Michelin PS4 tires, and electronically controlled adaptive suspension.

The engine is a 3.3 liter Stinger GT, DOHC, turbocharged V-6 that produces 365 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 376 pound-feet of torque from 1,300 rpm under the hood of the 2023 Genesis G70.

If you don’t want to pay $ 2,000 for the AWD, all the zing goes to the rear tires which can be fun. Officially, in ‘Sport’ mode, the car goes from zero to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and this seems to be true as Car & Driver clocked in 4.7 seconds for the 3.3T.

The ‘Sport’ setting also makes the adaptive suspension tougher, a little too harsh for the open road as it looks like it has been adapted for track use.
The gas pedal response and gearshift are also faster and the car feels quieter (and the engine sound inside the cabin has also improved).

The good part is that even in ‘Comfort’ mode, the chassis doesn’t wobble so the car still feels planted with a softer suspension setup. You can also play around and make your settings in ‘Custom’ driving mode.

The suspension is independent only at the front (in BMW and Mercedes independent all around), but you get Brembo brakes which help you slow down fast. Rack & pinion assisted steering.

In terms of numbers alone, the 2023 G70 3.3T Sport lags slightly behind its German rivals: the M340i puts out 382 horsepower at 5,800 rpm from the 3.0-liter inline-six engine, while the C43 AMG 3.0 liter V-6 is good at 385 horsepower at 6,100 pm.

Also, the C43 AMG only comes in AWD with a nine-speed automatic with flappy paddles. BMW is traditionally RWD but AWD is optional and the gearbox is, like in the Genesis, an eight-speed automatic with manual shift mode.

2023 Genesis G70 Configurations

Genesis is giving the 2023 Genesis G70 sedan a significant refresh for 2022 along with a more powerful 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine.

Genesis provides a significant redesign to the 2023 Genesis G70 sedan 2023 that will make it similar to the larger G80 sibling, which took a styling tip from the first Genesis SUV: the GV80.

The new 2023 G70 will also get a firing brake (wagon) model, but we’re not sure if it will hit the US market. Additionally, Genesis has confirmed it will no longer offer a manual transmission in the new 2023 Genesis G70.

The new look, complete with emblematic grille and quad-headlamp setup, is similar to the recently redesigned Genesis G80 2021 sedan and the all-new GV80 2021 SUV.

The two-bar horizontal theme continues on the back of the G70 with LED taillights, and below it are the dual oval exhaust tips and a body-color rear diffuser.

The new G70 will also use the same base engine – the 290 hp 2.5-liter in-line four-cylinder engine – as on the G80 sedan and GV80 SUV, replacing the previous model’s 2.0-liter turbo engine.

It is also likely that the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, which is also found in the other two Genesis vehicles, will replace the G70’s existing 3.3-liter engine.

Unfortunately, Genesis has confirmed it will no longer offer the six-speed manual transmission, which is currently available on the 2.0T. However, we weren’t too disappointed, as we weren’t really big fans of this manual.

2023 Genesis G70 Coupe

Genesis hasn’t revealed clear evidence of a return to coupe gaming, but with some clear competitors in the BMW, Benz, and Audi camps, the 2023 Genesis G70 Coupe could just be the ticket for a stylish brand-builder.

In almost no time in all of Hyundai’s upscale arms, the Genesis has built itself from a finer version of Hyundai’s car, into a complete premium competitor.

If Genesis wants to play with the likes of Mercedes-Benz and BMW, it is missing one major product, for now. A sleek two-door would be the ideal profile builder while taking friction on the established C-Class and 4 Series coupes.

Rendering expert at CarAdvice, Theophilus Chin, has imagined what the G70 2023 Genesis Coupe will look like, and the results are promising.

Cleverly, the Genesis has stuck to its main game so far, with mid-sized, large-sized sedans and limos, plus a large mid-sized SUV on the road. It’s also being a little Euro-centric with the G70 wagon being tested.

The 2023 Genesis G70 Coupe is going to go the extra mile, with the G70’s ‘Athletic Elegance’ organic design language only begging to be trimmed to a sleek two-door shape.

A lowered roofline was essential for this transformation, along with extended doors and frameless windows. Removing the rear quarter panel also gives the Genesis Coupe 2023 serious proportional weight (well, all-wheel-drive for that matter).

Plus, the basic G70 package doesn’t need much fettling at all. Direct front and rear of the sedan with some new internal pipes at the rear. The Quad Light treatment (as it is called Genesis) is attached to the C pillar with the help of a shortened boot.

If anything, the protective face of the 2023 Genesis G70 looks more comfortable in the Genesis Coupe 2023 than on the G70 sedan.

The Genesis itself doesn’t have much of a snapshot into the two-door history, while the brand has launched concepts like the supercar-style Essentia in 2018 and the compact Mint in 2019, as well as the traditional three-box Genesis Coupe 2023.

However, the Hyundai Genesis spawned a 2023 Genesis Coupe body. Built more as a performance rival that lies alongside cars like the low-output Toyota 86 and Mustang, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe stands out, thanks in large part to its beltline.

With accessible performance and rear-wheel-drive dynamics, the Genesis Coupe 2023 has long been a hit in the world of grassroots motorsport and drift audiences in the United States. That never intruded on the prestige set, nor was that his intention.

The current 2023 Genesis G70 engine options are already good and fulfill the task among luxury rivets with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine opening the range at 185kW / 353Nm, while a 3.3-liter turbo V6 engine with 272kW / 510Nm will have the car. like the M440i and C43 with notifications.

Unfortunately, while the wagon-wielded 2023 Genesis G70 has been staked out testing (and we’ve written what it looks like), the G70 Coupe is purely a work of active imagination for now.

The water cooler chat around the CarAdvice offices suggests Genesis is going to be a hit, but we’d love to know what you think. Let us know in the comments if you’d like to see the Genesis G70 Coupe brought to life, or if Genesis would be better off devoting time and effort to another project.

2023 Genesis G70 SUV

Just two years ago we first experienced the new 2023 Genesis G70 sports sedan, the brand’s rear-wheel-drive crosses the arc of established entry-level luxury sedan players such as the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.

Shortly after that initial journey, we named the 2019 Genesis G70 the Car of the Year. Now, Genesis has completely overhauled the G70’s look for 2023 – so much so, that you’d be forgiven for thinking this was the all-new G70.

The Genesis 2023 Genesis G70 represents a cosmetic-heavy refresh of the same sedan that has been on sale for years. The emerging design language of the upstart luxury brand, which made its debut on the larger G80 and G90 sedans, as well as the new GV80 crossover SUV, has been applied to an interesting effect.

(This isn’t entirely surprising – we understand that the G70 was designed from the start to adopt a new look, which was still being refined in 2018.) Replacing the old G70’s more generic face and tail-tip styling are twin-front and rear beam light elements that separate the headlights. front and taillights, as well as a new thicker, sharper mesh chain-mail grille.

The front fenders seem to have a more sculptural aesthetic, while the new tiny vents sit right behind each front wheel and take the gutters that are on the side doors of the 2023 Genesis G70.

In the same vein, the new headlights and taillights align with the G70’s sharp shoulder creases that extend just above the doorknob from nose to tail. It sounds cliché, but the clean effect of the 2023 Genesis G70 visual enhancements makes it appear longer and slimmer than before, even if the body frame and hooks remain unchanged.

2023 Genesis G70 Wagon

God bless Genesis. As automakers around the world dive headfirst into the development and production of new SUVs, the Genesis launches with a stable sedan before offering bigger one-person propulsion in the GV80.

Logic will dictate a second or even third SUV should keep up with the effort, but what do we see? This honest-for-good station wagon, built from the G70, shows off its long roof in the beautiful Austrian Alps.

We first came across the 2023 Genesis G70 wagon in July in a series of close-up spy photos, hiding its elongated back behind heavy camouflage. Surprisingly, the front and sides of the car also sport thick coverings, and all that is still in the latest spy video from CarSpyMedia posted above.

This prototype is undergoing altitude testing, and in fact, this is the same car we saw a few days ago in a spy shot.

The video shows the car in action, even showing a little crowd in several areas on the mountain path. We also saw that it wasn’t alone – the 2023 Genesis G70 sedan was chasing the wagon at one point, and we caught a glimpse of some of the carriages parked next to the road.

Could this be the benchmark vehicle being evaluated by the Genesis team? It’s also possible this is just a wagon out and about. We seldom see things like that in the United States, so chasing more than one long stop on the road always catches our eye.

Speaking of caution, with the thick camouflage still prevalent on these wagon prototypes, we checked with Nikita Chuiko at Kolesa.ru for some unofficial renderings of the 2023 Genesis G70 based on current spy shots.

The rear fascia with an oval exhaust outlet at an angle is different from the prototypes we’ve seen, but given the abundance of testing equipment seen on the latest test car, it’s very likely that the G70 isn’t wearing its final body panels.

What appealed even more to us was the elegant beltline with a casual slope, offset by the gentle slope of the G70’s elongated roof. If the final product is similar to this rendering, we won’t be disappointed.

Our sources did not say when the 2023 Genesis G70 wagon could go official, nor was there any news of it coming to North America.

We’d love to see it, but realistically there isn’t much of a business case for the long-rooftop G70 in SUV-crazed America. That hasn’t stopped Audi from sending us the RS6 Avant, so there may be some hope that Genesis Coupe 2023 will broaden its horizons.

In any case, the covers are likely to open next year.

2023 Genesis G70 Lease Deals

This spy photo confirms some good news: the Genesis 2023 Genesis G70 sports sedan will soon be spawning a wagon variant. But that good news comes with a bit of bad news too.

First, we can’t assume that this wagon (which Genesis might call a firing brake) will come to the US market. And Genesis has already informed our Road & Track colleagues that the updated 2023 Genesis G70 will no longer offer a manual transmission.

While the G70 wagon in this spy photo is very camouflaged, its long shape is unmistakable. We can also see that the 2023 Genesis G70 will adopt similar styling cues to the siblings of the G80 and GV80 which were recently revealed, as we can see the design of the new headlamps and taillights under the hood.

In the European market, the G70’s firing brake will compete with the wagon version of the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes C-class; The only carriages in this segment sold in the US are the Audi A4 Allroad and the Volvo V60.

The 2023 Genesis G70 will also adopt an updated and more powerful engine like those found in the G80 and GV80, as we expect the base 2.0-liter inline-four turbo to be replaced by a 2.5-liter unit and a 3.3-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine to be replaced by a 3.5-liter.

Unfortunately, this means the six-speed manual transmission available on the current G70 2.0Twill drop.

Genesis tells R&T that it only sells about 100 G70 manuals for the 2020 model year. (Granted, when we were driving the G70 manual, we weren’t as enthralled with it as we usually are with stick-shift sports sedans.)

We expect to hear more about the updated Genesis 2023 Genesis G70 sometime later this year, although we don’t expect that a wagon model will come to the US market. Stay tuned for more information to come. Here are GENESIS G70 LEASE DEALS right now.

2023 Genesis G70 Interior

As your mom always says looks aren’t everything, but in the case of the 2023 Genesis G70 – there you have it. Genesis says the current 252-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder model will be brought to ’22 without change, at least for the Korean market.

Ditto’s available 365-hp twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6, which is newly powered by an active exhaust system that can be adjusted louder for more pizazz during a sporty ride.

The automaker noted that “a feature of the international market is TBD,” meaning there is still time for the US market 2023 Genesis G70 to swap out its 2.0-liter base engine for a new 2.5-liter unit producing around 300 hp – a change that is also expected. comes to the platform’s counterpart to the Kia G70 badge, Stinger.

The good news was offset by Genesis’s decision to cancel the manual transmission of the 2023 Genesis G70 options sheet. Consider it a miracle that the G70 was once offered with a stick shift in the first place, due to the fast-fading type of transmission of the sports sedan segment.

It’s not yet known if the V-6 will get more power here, or if the Genesis will swap out for the bigger, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine than the GV80.

All of these questions and more will be answered next month, according to Genesis. Detailed specifications and US-specific information will be part of that update. Meanwhile, enjoy the new look of the G70.

A 10.3-inch infotainment screen is standard on the 2023 Genesis G70, and the new model also comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The rest of the interior also gets a more modest update, and the Genesis flips the wireless charging pad to a horizontal layout to fit larger phones.

The Genesis 2023 Genesis G70 will go on sale in South Korea next month and will follow in the US, starting at over $ 37,000, sometime later in the year or early next year. We’ll get to know more details about the redesigned G70 sedan soon.

2023 Genesis G70 Facelift

Hyundai luxury brand Genesis has given the G70 sedan a significant facelift, with a dramatically revamped front and rear, improved interior technology, and a new AWD V6 option with ‘drift mode’ leading the list of changes for 2023.

The luxury sedan G70, which was first launched in Australia in 2019, has received a series of visual updates aimed at bringing this BMW 3 Series rival in tune with the Korean brand’s new design language.

The new changes include a switch to the Genesis quad-lamp LED headlamps and taillights along with a lower, deeper grille that forms the shape of the brand logo.

The styling represents what Genesis calls ‘Athletic Elegance’, and will make the G70 2023 sit side by side with the design of the new second-generation G80 sedan and the new GV80 SUV in even better harmony.

Slated to launch in Australia in the first half of 2023, the updated Genesis 2023 Genesis G70 sports a new set of wheels and packs a more sophisticated cabin inside. Pricing has not been announced yet, but we expect the G70 price to slowly increase.

The lineup that came out ranged from $ 59,300 before on-road costs for the four-cylinder Sport model, to $ 79,950 before on-road costs for the fully loaded six-cylinder Ultimate Sport.

2023 Genesis G70 Facelift Interior

The cabin now has a larger 10.25-inch multimedia screen which is standard across all variants with the Genesis exclusive interface – after which the last version was criticized for sharing the same system with the Hyundai unit.

The digital instrument cluster has also been upgraded to appear easier to read and Genesis also says it features 3D visual effects – and the G70 will now receive an over-the-air update designed to further enhance the sedan after purchase.

Genesis has also worked to improve the G70’s cab noise by using acoustic glass to block external ride noise to allow for a quieter ride.

Under the hood, this luxury sedan still uses a choice of a 2.0-liter four-banger engine, producing 185kW and 353Nm, or a 3.3-liter V6 engine equipped with twin turbochargers producing 272kW and 510Nm of power.

That engine makes the four-cylinder 2023 Genesis G70 compete primarily with the Mercedes-Benz C 300 ($ 74,700), the BMW 330i ($ 71,90and the Audi A4 45 TFSI ($ 70,300), and the Lexus IS 300 ($ 60,500) before road costs.

Meanwhile, the V6 takes on other six-cylinder rivals take the Mercedes-AMG C43 ($ 116,136), the BMW M340i ($ 108,900), the Audi S4 ($ 99,900), and the Lexus IS350 ($ 66,500) before road costs.

Unlike rival vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, the Genesis G70 is only offered in a four-door sedan form factor – despite rumors that Genesis is working on G70 wagons to increase their European appeal.

However, the Korean automaker has made some changes to the way the engine and transmission function with the new Sports + drive mode which will ensure the driver can make effective use of every last kW and Nm. In the same vein, the V6 will now be equipped with all-wheel drive, while the four cylinders will remain rear-wheel drive only.

However, those who appreciate the classic rear-drive layout of the high-torque six-cylinder will still be served. The optional Sports Package includes a drift mode, allows oversteer, and provides a variable valve system exhaust to give owners the option to choose a more aggressive or quieter sound from inside the cab.

Australian specs and pricing for the refreshed 2023 Genesis G70 will be available ahead of the car’s launch in the first half of 2023.

2023 Genesis G70 MPG

So far, the EPA has only released estimates for the GV70 equipped with a V-6 twin-turbocharged Sport model and all-wheel drive. It is estimated to reach 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with a combined rating of 21 mpg. That’s just 1 mpg more in the city than the GV80 and 2 more on the highway.

2023 Genesis G70 Trims

2023 Genesis G70 0-60

The base G70 2.0T is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 252 horsepower via an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels; all-wheel drive is optional. The engine feels safe around the city, and the acceleration times are average.

However, our hearts beat fast behind the wheel of the twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 model, with 365 pounds and 376 lb-ft of torque. We spent some personal time with the 3.3T rear-drive and were blown away by the engine thrust wave that sent it from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds in our tests.

Regardless of the powertrain configuration, the G70 has expertly balanced ride and handling characteristics. The suspension smooths out any uneven surfaces, and the sedan stays cool during an exciting cornering session.

The more powerful 3.3T has the advantage of adaptive damping that allows the driver to tighten the ride if necessary, but every 2023 Genesis G70 we drive does a great job of sending information into the driver’s hands. Steering feedback is precise and pleasant, with an adjustable effort by switching between multiple drive modes.

2023 Genesis G70 Images

Whether you like or hate the new look of the 2023 Genesis G70 (I love it), this Korean luxury brand is almost ready to fill agencies with them. However, before the standard G70 arrived, the company first had what you see here: the G70 launch edition.

A new model appears this weekend on the brand’s website with a link to order one of the 500 cars planned to be built in this specification.

There is not much that sets it apart from the standard G70, but it is a very desirable specification in my books. Most importantly, the car is only equipped with an optional dual-turbocharged V6 turbocharged, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Genesis, unfortunately, has eliminated the manual transmission option for its sports sedan – the expected pick-up rate is very low.

The GV70 looks great in photos, and nothing gets lost when looking at the crosses in the real world. Low and wide, sophisticated and neat. We love the folds along the sides of the body and the way the roofline wraps around the hatchback.

The elegant headlights contrast with the large Genesis grille and fit the similarly shaped round taillight. Judging by the looks alone, the Genesis GV70 is significantly more expressive and attractive than other luxury SUVs. Oh, and you can (and should) get it in wild colors like matte green and matte purple.

2023 Genesis G70 Price

The GV70 will be available with the same engine as the larger GV80, meaning a 2.5-liter turbo I4 at the base end and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 at higher trim levels.

The four-cylinder engine will have 300 horsepower and 311 kg of torque, while the V6 will produce 375 hp and 399 kg – just like in the GV80. Unlike the GV80, each GV70 will come as standard with an all-wheel drive. A rear-wheel-drive version will be available in other countries, but not in the US. Diesel engines are also offered elsewhere.

The most basic device AWD GV70 2.5T comes with an impressive list of features. You get launch control, 18-inch wheels, adaptive cruise control, front-end collision warning, lane departure warning, tracking assistance, blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic alerts, parking sensors, faux leather seats, heated front seats, power lift doors, phone charging Wireless, fingerprint recognition, and a full 14.5-inch infotainment screen.

The base model is also equipped with Genesis’ fast driving assistance, which combines adaptive cruise technology and lane maintenance. The 2.5T Select Rise adds 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, cooled seats, and a premium audio system.

The advanced package includes leather seats, a heated steering wheel, automatic parking assistance, and a 360-degree camera. No matter how you deploy it, every GV70 is full.

We also have no price information, but we expect the GV70 to start around $ 40,000, with a fully loaded model arriving at $ 60,000. If you want to pre-order, you can build and specify a GV70 on the Genesis website. And seriously, go for purple.

How Much Is A 2023 Genesis G70 Pricing isn’t available yet but we expect a small upgrade from the current model, which starts at $ 37,025 and ranges up to $ 49,225 for the AWD 3.3T model.
