New Perfect 2024 Acura ADX Ultimate Review

The Acura ADX is the Japanese brand's first EV with an electric super-SUV

2024 Acura ADX while details are scarce, the Acura ADX 2024 reveals a lot in its name alone. Similar Acura models share a naming scheme; The RDX and MDX are both SUVs, so the ADX should join them. The RDX is a compact two-row SUV.

The Acura MDX is a midsize three-row SUV. We expect the Acura ADX 2024 to be the same size or smaller than the RDX.

Why? This compact proposition has proven to be a fun segment, as it offers the versatility to tackle city streets with agility and highway travel with great spaciousness. As a result, the Acura ADX 2024 must live in the compact SUV class.

The Acura ADX is rumored to be the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle. According to speculation from Car and Driver, a trademark filing for the 2024 Acura ADX could indicate a luxury brand partner for Honda’s upcoming Prolog. Both vehicles are expected to be the result of a new partnership with General Motors.

While it’s not clear what the ADX will look like or what EV specs to expect, we do know that parent company Honda will take advantage of GM’s new Ultium battery technology. If the 2024 Acura ADX goes into production with similar battery specs to the Cadillac Lyriq SUV, it could deliver a range of over 300 miles.

In the case of the Honda Prolog, availability will be limited in California and other zero-emissions states. If this is the case with the 2024 Acura ADX, it can be a disadvantage compared to traditional gas-fueled vehicles. Unfortunately, regional availability is still limited to a number of other electric cars.

If the 2024 Acura ADX goes into production, it could face competition from the latest generation of EVs from luxury brands like BMW. For example, the BMW iX offers a futuristic look with a range of around 300 miles. Meanwhile, Audi is already selling the e-Tron SUV and will soon introduce the smaller e-Tron Q4 crossover.

When it comes to electrification, Acura says it will skip hybrids in favor of EVs. While the range-topping top NSX coupe is a plug-in hybrid, the addition of a full-electric SUV could help bring the brand into closer competition with its rivals. We’ll have to wait for official details to emerge at a later date.

There’s a lot to like with RDX, though it doesn’t shine in one area and lags a little in others. All RDX is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder (272 horsepower, 280 lb-ft of torque) paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The turbocharged engine is quite powerful but delivers disappointing fuel economy. It’s also the only powertrain available most of its competitors offer more options in the form of an upgraded engine with more power or hybrid options and the RDX is offered with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The interior is one of the best we’ve seen from any Acura.

However, we didn’t fall in love with Acura’s in-car technology, namely the touchpad infotainment interface.

The RDX also offers good value compared to other small luxury SUVs, even when loaded with options. It doesn’t have the refinements you’ll find in the Mercedes-Benz GLC or BMW X3, but it also doesn’t have the same price tag as those models. You can also get similar features and technology for less money.

There are plenty of non-luxury SUVs around this price point, with strong options including the Honda Passport, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Kia Telluride, Mazda CX-9, and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. Check out our test team’s Expert Rating below to help you decide if the RDX is the best SUV for you.

2024 Acura ADX Review

The Acura ADX is the Japanese brand’s first EV, but underneath it is as American as the Chevrolet Corvette. To reduce bills and speed up the EV manufacturing process, Acura/Honda is working with General Motors to develop an EV based on the Ultium platform and existing battery technology.

Little is known about 2024 Acura ADX, except that Acura has filed a trademark for the name and that the Ultium platform provides several drivetrain options. Since Acuras are generally sportier than Hondas, we suspect Acura will skip the front-wheel drive remote option and will use a two or three-motor setup instead.

For size, we’d roughly match the MDX, which is Acura’s best-selling crossover. That would also put him in the ring with upcoming EV crossovers like the Polestar 4 and the next-generation EV-only Porsche Macan.

Thanks to the partnership with GM, the Acura ADX didn’t need to be built from scratch. It should hit the market in 2024 if all goes well. That’s roughly a year after its main rival, keeping the Acura brand relevant and in touch with consumers.

Getting the price right will be very important. We know battery pack prices are dropping fast, but EVs still demand a premium over ICE cars. The general average for this segment is between $60,000 to $80,000, and Acura will likely want to be on the lower end of that.

2024 Acura ADX Specs

Like its status as an all-electric vehicle, the specifications that will drive the Acura ADX 2024 are still kept secret. We foresee impressive technology on the horizon.

The Acura ADX 2024 range (if that’s an EV) should take away the angst of on-the-go charging and follow up the mileage with a sprint from 0 to 60 mph.

Whether launched as an EV or a gas-powered SUV, we expect the 272 horsepower output of the new RDX to be the benchmark that the 2024 Acura ADX SUV targets.

2024 Acura ADX Electric

The powertrain that supports the Acura ADX 2024 is still a secret. However, rumors point to the ADX as an all-electric SUV. While it’s still unconfirmed, it makes sense.

Acura’s current lineup is a shining example of how to take technology further. Models like the redesigned Acura MDX combine thrilling performance, exceptional practicality, and near-hybrid efficiency levels with ultra-advanced gas engine engineering. If the current Acura SUV can achieve all that, imagine what an electric Acura SUV can do.

And that’s why we believe the Acura ADX 2024 release date will be the start of a new electric generation. The timing was perfect; The Acura NSX plug-in hybrid (PHEV) supercar sadly says goodbye. In our opinion, the legacy of high efficiency and high performance deserves to be implemented in the new models.

The brand has plenty of electrical technology at its disposal to work its magic, and no matter how the Acura ADX takes shape, we’re sure it will be an exciting and eco-friendly addition.

2024 Acura ADX Interior

We haven’t seen a preview of what the inside of the Acura ADX 2024 will look like, but we do expect style and luxury. The spacious 104 cubic feet of passenger volume and the 79.8 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume of the new RDX should be similar to what the 2024 Acura ADX will offer.

Current innovations such as the concert-quality ELS Studio 3D sound system, GPS-linked climate control, and 3D view navigation should also be in the new 2024 Acura ADX.

Apart from the high-quality details, we believe the Acura ADX 2024 will come with a truly luxurious and sophisticated cabin that will impress all your passengers.

2024 Acura ADX Features

The features in the upcoming Acura ADX are still being kept secret. However, we expect the innovative advantages of current models such as the ELS Studio 3D sound system to be offered, along with unprecedented next-generation driver assistance technology.
