You won’t be able to reach that level of charge on 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, but there are several charging options, including Level 1 and Level 2 up to 19 kilowatts and DC fast charging at over 150 kilowatts. Two drivetrains will be available: a basic rear-wheel-drive model and an all-wheel-drive performance model.

The full payload range of the Lyriq is expected to be around 480 kilometers (or 300 miles). The new Ultium battery system will offer around 100 kilowatt-hours of energy, and feature unique battery chemistry that utilizes nickel, cobalt, manganese, and aluminum, the last metals used in cathodes to help reduce the need for rare earth such as cobalt.

According to GM, the cobalt content is reduced by more than 70 percent compared to current GM batteries.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Report

The Cadillac Lyric in 2023 first debuted earlier this month and ensured Tesla’s range of technology and technology. Cadillac is now providing clues as to how much an electric crossover will cost when it first appears in late 2022 or early 2023.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq

As vehicle news reports report, the Lyric will start below $ 60,000. That’s according to Steve Carlyle, president of General Motors North America, who announced at the JPMorgan Auto conference on Wednesday.

“This car has to be priced like the price of the luxury high-end industrial space, maybe a little premium at first,” Carlisle said. “It’s a price that will not be five digits high. It will not start at seven and it will not start at six.” Full pricing information will be released ahead of the model launch.

Time will tell if the Cadillac Lyric 2023 carries a significant premium over the XT5 of this size, which now starts at $ 45,090. To compare the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq to its competitor in the EV, the Tesla Y model now appears at a starting price of $ 51,190 while the Jaguar I-Pace is $ 71,000 enticing. This price includes the target fee.

We do not yet know all the details, but Cadillac says Lyric will be able to travel more than 300 miles for a single fee. It will be available with RWD or AWD, and the front-to-back weight distribution will be very close to 50/50, and will improve performance.

Lyric sat on GM’s new Ultium EV platform, which will eventually spread to other Cadillacs. Inside the compartment, look for the large 38-inch display on the dashboard.

Sometimes car manufacturers have very different opinions about when a customer will be ready for an EV car. For Cadillac, time seems to come sooner rather than later. By the end of this decade, almost all Cadillac cars will be electric. “Every indication is that consumers are getting ready. A whole ecosystem approach is needed,” says Carlisle.

Lyric is expected to begin production by the end of 2022. The show car, unveiled earlier this month, is ready for 80-85 percent production.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Preview

Cadillac’s first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market is the Lyriq SUV, which is showcased by a concept car with a sharp styling and a modern cabin. Cadillac said that single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor dual-wheel drive models will be offered and that its new SUV will have a range of more than 300 miles.

Lyriq has been designed from scratch and will use General Motors’ new scalable battery architecture; the company claims the low center of gravity and spacious cabin are the advantages of the dedicated EV architecture. The Lyriq will go on sale sometime in late 2022 as a 2023 model.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq is not only a new nameplate for the struggling American luxury brand, it’s also Cadillac’s first all-electric offering. When it goes on sale, it will come face to face with heavy hitters like the Audi e-Tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.

Furthermore, the battery is packaged in a large flat pouch cell that allows for smart module construction to reduce complexity and simplify cooling requirements.

In addition, battery electronics are built into the module, eliminating nearly 90 percent of the battery pack wiring compared to current GM electric vehicles. The platform also allows for a very low center of gravity, and the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is balanced with a 50/50 weight distribution, according to Cadillac.

As well as the first drivetrain technology for Cadillac, there are a number of onboard technologies that are first on Lyriq, most notably the 33-inch diagonal LED screen that reaches into the driver’s field of view and provides driver information, infotainment controls and camera views.

According to Cadillac, it has the highest pixel density in the auto industry and can display more than a billion colors, 64 times more than its closest competitor.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury EV SUV

There’s also what Cadillac calls ‘a head-up display enhanced with two-plane augmented reality.’ In layman’s terms, it would be a two-level HUD with a close level showing typical HUD info (speed, direction, etc.) and a further level showing transparent navigation signals and other alerts.

And 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will come with the latest version of Cadillac’s Super Cruise, a hands-free assistance feature that will have automatic lane change capability. And living up to the theme of its name, Lyriq will have a ‘qick’ butt sound system – AKG Studio 19-speaker audio setup.

Just as Nissan did with the all-electric Ariya, Cadillac re-imagined its exterior design language with Lyriq, signifying what the Caddy EV will look like in the future. Most notable are the vertical and ‘crystal black’ grille, sleek LED signature lights on the front, and at the rear a separate tail lamp design featuring sleek LEDs.

Another interesting design feature that’s both artsy and functional is the ventilated roof spoiler, a first for Cadillac.

What Is Cadillac Luxury Package

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Specs

Cadillac’s first entrant into the luxury electric vehicle market is the Lyriq SUV, which is showcased by a concept car with a sharp styling and a modern cabin. Cadillac said that single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor dual-wheel drive models will be offered and that its new SUV will have a range of more than 300 miles.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq has been designed from scratch and will use General Motors’ new scalable battery architecture; the company claims the low center of gravity and spacious cabin are the advantages of the dedicated EV architecture.

Lyriq was supposed to go on sale sometime in late 2022 as a 2023 model but appeared alongside comedians Awkwafina, Kenan Thompson, and Will Ferrell in a Super Bowl commercial. in February 2021 and elsewhere starring Timothée Chalamet and Winona Rider.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq is not only a new nameplate for the struggling American luxury brand, it’s also Cadillac’s first all-electric offering. When it goes on sale, it will go head to head with heavy hitters like the Audi e-Tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model X.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Interior

This 2023 Cadillac Lyriq concept vehicle features a spacious interior with only four seats and a center console that divides the front and two rear seats, with a touch screen for rear-seat passengers.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq

We’re not sure how much of that will make it to production, and we’re expecting three seats in the second row. Cadillac says using a dedicated EV architecture allows for a more spacious and open cabin with plenty of room for passengers to feel comfortable.

More advanced noise-canceling technology is said to reduce road noise inside the cab, and interior designers have included surprises such as backlit speaker grilles and hidden storage space.

The Lyriq dashboard, like the new Escalade 2021, is dominated by a sophisticated 33.0-inch curved LED display that doubles as the SUV’s infotainment system and driver’s meter display. On the Escalade, the infotainment system can be controlled with the click wheel on the center console, a boon for drivers who don’t like touchscreens.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi hotspot are expected to become standard features when Lyriq steps into the Cadillac showroom. A 19-speaker stereo system from high-end audio experts at AKG will be offered, but it’s unclear if it will be a standard or optional feature when Lyriq hits the market.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Engine

The Lyriq will become standard in the form of a rear-wheel-drive with an electric motor in the rear axle; an All-wheel drive will be optional and add a second motor in front to drive the wheels. Cadillac hasn’t worked out the details on the Lyriq’s electric powertrain so far, so we don’t know how much horsepower it will generate.

After all, acceleration is bound to be fast, at least at slower speeds, thanks to the direct nature of the power delivery of the electric motor. I-Pace, for example, jumped up to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds during our tests; we expect Lyriq to deliver a similar performance.

General Motors is launching a new line of EV battery technology by Lyriq called Ultrium. The scalable technology allows automakers to produce batteries in sizes ranging from 50.0 kWh to 200 kWh, although the largest size should only be for large pickup trucks like the upcoming GMC Hummer EV SUT.

Cadillac claims that the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will offer a battery with a capacity of about 100 kilowatts and should be able to cover a driving distance of more than 300 miles for charging. DC’s fast-charging capability will be standard but the Lyriq will also be able to charge in-home outlets.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq MPG

So far there has been no word from the EPA on the estimated fuel economy of Lyriq (as stated in the MPGe), but we hope it will be available closer to the SUV’s sale date.

We’ll also have the opportunity to test Lyriq through future 200-mile highway fuel-economy tests, and when we do, we’ll update this story with the results. For more information on Lyriq fuel economy, visit the EPA website.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Cost

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Price The Cadillac Lyriq 2023 debuted earlier this month, promising Tesla-like reach and technology. Now, Cadillac is providing clues about how much an electric crossover will cost when it debuts in late 2022 or early 2023. As Automotive News reports, Cadillac Lyriq Price will start at under $ 60,000

2023 Cadillac Lyriq

Cadillac hasn’t said exactly how much the Lyriq will cost or whether it will follow the brand’s usual trim-level setup. However, we estimate starting at a little under $ 60,000, which is a requirement to qualify for state incentives in California and New York.

  • Luxury $ 60,000 (est)
  • Premium Luxury $ 70,000 (est)
  • Sport $ 80,000 (est)
  • Platinum $ 90,000 (est)

2023 Cadillac Lyriq Release Date

Lyriq is the first of a number of ‘coming soon’ Cadillac EVs, all part of parent General Motors’ noble promise of no less than 20 electric cars to sell globally by 2023.

To this day, they own one: the Chevrolet Bolt. Next up for the Caddy is the Celestiq flagship sedan, and while not being named, we do know there are three SUV / CUV after the halo: compact size similar to the XT4; medium size three lines along the XT6 line; and an Escalade sized EV.

We also know that Cadillac has made two name trademark filings – Optiq and Symbolic – possibly as part of the EV stable ‘iq’ naming convention. Speaking of names, there are also rumors circulating that GM is considering releasing its entire EV lineup to create a new brand around the zero-emission vehicle.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq joins a growing number of all-new and electric SUV / CUVs coming soon in Canada, a list that includes the existing Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-e (coming early next year), Polestar 2 (available in coming months), Volvo XC40 Recharge (expected later this year), recently revealed Nissan Ariya (coming late next year) and Mazda MX-3 (sometime next year).

Cadillac’s first EV will be launched in the US in late 2022 as the 2023 model. Canadian pricing and availability will be released at a later date.
